Dr Natalie Summerhill
MBBS RCGP (2015) DRCOG DFSRH
Dr Summerhill is a GP with a dedicated interest in menopause. She qualified from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’s (GKT) School of Medical Education in London in 2007. She qualified as a GP from the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) in 2015 and has undertaken specialist training in women’s health having achieved diplomas from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRCOG) as well as the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health (DFSRH). She is a member of the British Menopause Society (BMS) and is a member of the programme planning committee for the 2020 BMS Annual Scientific Conference.
Dr Summerhill relocated to Manchester from the south east in 2017 and after having twins decided against taking a full-time position as a GP but can regularly be found working locally. Through her practice as a GP she has spoken with many menopausal women who are not receiving the information, support or treatment they deserve and is determined to change this. Both in her professional and personal lives, she has witnessed strong women crumbling at the menopause and is determined that no one else should suffer needlessly.
Dr Summerhill has undertaken extensive training in menopause management and will soon complete the Advanced Menopause training from the FSRH. Her training has been overseen by Kathy Abernethy, Former Chair of the British Menopause Society and Dr Asha Kasliwal, current President of the FSRH. She has also visited Newson Health. Dr Summerhill spends much of her time educating both public and private sector employers and employees as well as her peers.
